Vision

“To exceed the expectations of coffee enthusiasts worldwide by providing premium coffee, roasted and packed at origin, while ensuring freshness and traceability. “

Coffee Roasted at Origin

Coffee roasted at origin refers to the practice of roasting coffee beans in the same country or geographical region where they were grown and harvested. This result in a fresher product and supports the local economy.

Roasting coffee at origin brings a multitude of benefits to the coffee industry and the consumers. It ensures freshness and quality, fosters fair partnerships, celebrates regional diversity, promotes economic development, contributes to environmental sustainability, preserves cultural traditions, supports transparency, and empowers farmers. This approach not only enhances the coffee-drinking experience but also creates a more ethical and sustainable coffee industry as a whole.

Mattot Coffee consumers develop a deeper appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the farmers and producers involved. This connection adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the coffee-drinking experience, making it more meaningful and satisfying.

Our Sourcing

At MATTOT COFFEE, we take pride in our meticulous sourcing process. Here’s a glimpse into our approach:

  • 1. Reliability : We source our coffees from reliable micro lots and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Trust is the foundation of our partnerships.
  • 2. Traceability : We believe in transparency. Our consumers have the right to know where their coffee originated from. They can explore information about the farm or cooperative where it’s sourced and trace its journey to their cup.
  • 3. Origin : Ethiopian Authentic Single-origin coffee is the passport to flavor discovery. Sourced from specific geographic region or even an individual farm these beans carry distinct characteristics.

Our selection includes:

  • Guji - Grown at high altitudes around 1800 meters, Guji beans develop complex flavors due to lower oxygen content during their growth. Expect sweet and delicate notes.
  • Sidamo - coffees boast a rich body and a bright, consistent aftertaste year after year.
  • Yirgacheffe - Known for its fruity and floral notes, Yirgacheffe offers bright acidity and a citric flavor. We serve it as a single origin for various brewing methods.
  • Bench Maji - With a rich body, delicate acidity, and hints of strawberry, cream, and almond, Bench Maji beans delight the palate.
  • Tepi - coffee strikes a balance with low to medium acidity and a smooth body.

So, whether you’re a seasoned coffee aficionado or just beginning your journey, remember that quality and exploration awaits in every cup.

Our Roast Profiles Include

Medium Roast

Also known as "American roast" because it is commonly preferred in the United States, medium roast coffee is brown in color with a stronger flavor and a non-oily surface. It's often described as well-balanced in terms of flavor, aroma, and acidity.

Dark Roast

Dark roast coffee is darker in color and has a significant oil on the surface of the beans. This roast profile is characterized by its bold, robust flavor. Dark roasts tend to have low acidity and are heavy in mouthfeel.

Medium-Dark Roast

Striking a balance between the two, medium-dark roast coffee has a richer, darker color with some oil on the surface of the beans. This roast profile typically results in a slightly bittersweet aftertaste.
